The Music of Ceiba
música con raíz e historia
Ceiba has performed their unique brand of music at the Center twice -
the most recent for the opening reception of Eniac Martinez' photographic exhibit. Their old world music from Mexico to South
America, combined with their authentic handcrafted instruments, 17th century clothing, and history, entertains all.
Ceiba formed
in 1999 with the purpose of reclaiming and disseminating the music genres of Latin American Folk, neo-folk and New Song that are seldom
heard in commercial venues. Their music is rich with cultural and historical value that is enjoyed by all.
Ceiba plays
indigenous wind and percussion instruments from Andean Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile and Mexico.
